When The Love Fades

When The Love Fades

When a love that was once personal and intimate loses it flavor and becomes routine it’s time for a revival.   Revivial is not just an event that happens at Church.  It is an event that should take place in marrages, in families and between friends.  It is a time to remember and reflect on the past and pray to revive the love that seems to be  fading.

Revelation 2:4-5

4 “But I have this against you: You have left the love you had in the beginning. 5 So remember where you were before you fell. Change your hearts and do what you did at first. If you do not change, I will come to you and will take away your lampstand from its place.

It is a time to Forgive and grow
to praise God and grow
to ask for Mercy and grow
to Humble oneself and grow
to Rejoice and grow
to renew Faith and grow
to renew Love and grow
to remember the Joy and grow
to be Kind and grow
To Praise God and grow
and most important of all Repent and grow

Psalm 85:1-3

1 Lord, you have been kind to your land;
       you brought back the people of Jacob.
 2 You forgave the guilt of the people
       and covered all their sins.
                         Selah
 3 You stopped all your anger;
       you turned back from your strong anger.

6 Won’t you give us life again?
       Your people would rejoice in you.

If we Repent,  renew our Faith, and our  Love the Joy we will be restored. God wants us to revive the Faith and Love we once had in each other and he will restore the joy.

1 Corinthians 13

1 I may speak in different languages of people or even angels. But if I do not have love, I am only a noisy bell or a crashing cymbal. 2 I may have the gift of prophecy. I may understand all the secret things of God and have all knowledge, and I may have faith so great I can move mountains. But even with all these things, if I do not have love, then I am nothing. 3 I may give away everything I have, and I may even give my body as an offering to be burned. But I gain nothing if I do not have love.

Psalm 85:10-11

10 Love and truth belong to God’s people;
       goodness and peace will be theirs.
 11 On earth people will be loyal to God,
       and God’s goodness will shine down from heaven.

Ephesians 3:17

17 I pray that Christ will live in your hearts by faith and that your life will be strong in love and be built on love.

The bad news is that God children tend to repeat their mistakes over and over again.  Throughout history they turn away from God.  Instead of following his commands they began to chase after the things of this world.  The Good ews is that God wants to save us.  He wants us to have faith, he wants us to repent, to pray, to humble ourselves he will forgive us and restore the joy.

Judges 2:10-19

The People Disobey

 10 After those people had died, their children grew up and did not know the Lord or what he had done for Israel.11 So they did what the Lord said was wrong, and they worshiped the Baal idols.12 They quit following the Lord, the God of their ancestors who had brought them out of Egypt. They began to worship the gods of the people who lived around them, and that made the Lord angry.13 The Israelites quit following the Lord and worshiped Baal and Ashtoreth.14 The Lord was angry with the people of Israel, so he handed them over to robbers who took their possessions. He let their enemies who lived around them defeat them; they could not protect themselves.15 When the Israelites went out to fight, they always lost, because the Lord was not with them. The Lord had sworn to them this would happen. So the Israelites suffered very much.

God Chooses Judges

 16 Then the Lord chose leaders called judges, who saved the Israelites from the robbers.17 But the Israelites did not listen to their judges. They were not faithful to God but worshiped other gods instead. Their ancestors had obeyed the Lord’s commands, but they quickly turned away and did not obey.18 When their enemies hurt them, the Israelites cried for help. So the Lord felt sorry for them and sent judges to save them from their enemies. The Lord was with those judges all their lives.19 But when the judges died, the Israelites again sinned and worshiped other gods. They became worse than their ancestors. The Israelites were very stubborn and refused to change their evil ways.
