Read Genesis 13
I found it hard to write an outline for chapter 13 every attempt I made, caused me to ask more questions and pull me into a deeper study of chapters 1-12. Because I tried not to tell all that we know about the Bible and God’s plan. Abram would not have know the complete story as we do today. The Bible is a completed work but Abarm does not know all that we know. He has an honor that many of us will not experience he’s talks to God and God talks to him.
We know that God told Abram I will do these things:
Genesis 12 1-3
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you
2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
The Lord said I will make you a great nation
you will be a blessing
I will bless those who bless you
those that curse you I will curse
all people on earth will be bless by you
Then in chapter 13:14-18
14 The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. 16 I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.17 Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”
The Lord all the land that you see will be yours
You will have many offsprings
you owned forever
walk through the land
We should use the word covenant God made some promises to Abram and Abram trusted God and did what God told him to do. You will also notice some curses and some blessing in this covenant. Lot received some blessing from God and I think it was because of his relationship with Abram more so his relationship to God. I can say that because when he parted form Abram he went for the best land what he could see. Abram took his lands based on faith. Also God did not make a covenant with Lot.
Read chapter Genesis 13 several times. The chapter has a lot but I think the most important things are They will become a nations, It will last forever, they will be a blessing to all people on earth. The blessing is Christ!
Do you think Abram knew it was Christ?
