The Woman God gave me is like this widow woman that God sent Elijah to for refuge. Can you image being chase by a Godless woman named Jezebel, daughter of King Eth-Baal of the Zidonians. A woman that wants you head she wants you dead because you spoke the truth and that’s another story.
In this story you are Elijah a prophet and a man on the run in need of refuge a safe place. You a man of God and God tell you what to do. God tells you to go to this widow woman, this nameless woman with a child and to ask her for a piece of bread and the land is in a time of famine. When you arrive at Zarephath you see this woman that God has sent you to.
You go to the woman and ask her for a cup of water. The woman turns away to get you a cup of water and as she walks away you say can you bring me a little piece of bread too. Can you think what a woman today would say to you if you ask her for a piece of bread? She probably say, “What!, I was kind enough to get you a glass of water and now you want a piece of bread too. You better get you a job –Man!” But. “This nameless woman didn’t say that she said I have a little flour and olive oil I’m trying to get a little wood to make a fire to cook a little bread so my son and I can have our last meal and die from hunger.”
Elijah said go home cook you food but make me a small loft of bread first and cook something for you and your child. Elijah told her that God will not let you run out of flour or oil until the day the Lord sends rain.
My woman is like this nameless woman of Zarephath in Sidon. She is not proud, she trust God will provide and she will give her last bit.
